Im only 8 weeks, and although my normal clothes fit me in the morning, by dinner I am so bloated and and uncomfortable that I have to undo them and sit like a beached whale at the table.

I got a couple of pairs of maternity trousers out of the drawer today and dh thought I was mad (seeing as baby only measures 1.9mm)

So when did you crack out the fat pants

With DD (pfb), when the blue line appeared!!! Well......I was pregnant!

With DS I needed to by 8 weeks due to bloating (and eating tons )

PrammyMammy · 04/04/2009 12:11

Hey, I am 16 weeks pg and the past two weeks i have been wearing dp's trousers to work lol! They are just black work trousers so you cant tel they are mens, but my button stopped going in. Been wearing sexy sports bras for about 6 weeks.

mosschops30 · 04/04/2009 12:18

with this one (number 3) I needed maternity or very stretchy trousers by 7 weeks - was so bloated. Can't remember with 1 and 2 though.

twocutedarlings · 04/04/2009 12:28

dd1 - about 2o weeks for proper maternity stuff, i just bought a bigger pair of work trousers which i need from around 14 weeks

dd2 - 16 weeks

ds - 10 weeks Xmas Shock

diedandgonetodevon · 04/04/2009 12:36

I was in maternity trousers full time by about 12 weeks just because they were more comfortable

Tamlin · 04/04/2009 13:00

With number one, it took a while. I've just cracked at nine and a half weeks and hauled maternity stuff out of the attic - my jeans are currently done up with ye olde hairband trick. I appear to be gestating a giant cheese baby (bread and cheese is about all I can choke down now!)

usernametaken · 04/04/2009 17:13

I'm 17 weeks now with #2 and so far resisting the need for 'fat pants'! I have afeeling that I will need a hair band by tomorrow to do up my jeans button. I have some maternity jeans that I bought the other week, but right now I am wearing a pair of tracky botts as I am meant to be gardening lol!
With DD I was in maternity about 17 weeks.

SheWillBeLoved · 04/04/2009 17:17

I'm 25 weeks today and still in pre-pregnancy clothe can still zip them up if I'm standing, but undo them when I'm sitting just for extra comfort.

minxofmancunia · 04/04/2009 17:18

With dd 20 weeks ish with some stuff but wore some stretchy stuff right up til the end.

Am 17 weeks now and am restricted to a few items of my normal attire, all work skirts too tight but most dresses still ok.

Jeans are beginning to pinch now but maternity still too big. At that horrible inbetweeny stage.

funtimewincies · 04/04/2009 18:25

Only 6 weeks here, so don't need that maternity trousers BUT so tempted to dig out the huge knickers that I wore during my last pg (and went over the entire bump - mmm lovely ) because my usual sensible white cotton ones are already cutting me in half due to bloating !

funtimewincies · 04/04/2009 18:26

...actually, this could be a plan. Due to recurrent mcs we've been advised to avoid/keep sex to a minimum for the first 12 weeks. Huge knickers could be just what's needed for encouraging dh to keep his mitts to himself !

mosschops30 · 04/04/2009 18:27

shewillbeloved - is this your first baby?

I didnt wear any maternity clothes with dd, my bump was tiny
Then with ds I lived in joggers which I have promised not to do this time, I want a glam pregnancy.

Have just eaten a massive hot curry and the trousers are undone

12 weeks pg 1
10 weeks pg 2
8 weeks pg 3

Belgianchocolates · 04/04/2009 20:03

Pg 1 10 weeks
pg 2 can't remeber
pg3 14 weeks, but normal clothes didn't fit from 8 weeks, yet mat clothes dropped, so lived in jumper dresses for almost 2 months this autumn.
