.....did you know that the soap drawer of your washing machine is actually very, very disgusting if you don't pull it out all the way and clean it once in awhile? I was reading about this and decided to give it a try after I learned where the catch is to take the drawer out all the way... first time in 3 years it has been cleaned, and OH MY it needed it

Just something else to add to the list, after licking the skirting boards sparkly clean and using a hairbrush to fluff up the carpet (and yes I've already done these)

Oh I do hope this baby arrives soon!!!

If you are struggling with getting the drawer out all the way:

And yes I realize this is a very sad thread

I have just cleaned my kitchen cupboard doors with a steam gun. And i hope mine doesn't arrive too soon, I'm making stonking progress with my spring clean .

HappyChildminderBerkshire · 03/04/2009 09:19

That is very noble. Buuuuuut........ have you removed the overspill cover to your bathtub and cleaned out all the hair and gunk? Because it is very necessary, I assure you. Cotton buds work very well to get every last part clean. (I'm sure Baby really will appreciate all this when he finally arrives, ha ha)

Um, no i haven't. But i have just done a fab job tidying up the girls wardrobes. Ok, not strictly spring cleaning but i do feel very pleased with myself. Now feeling very guilty that I'm sat at the computer with a Twirl and a cup of tea.

Funny you said about the washer tray, i only realised a few week back that it could come out!! Washing is much softer now fabric conditioner is actually getting through all the gunk lol!! Had to re-wash all babys clothes now though, he will appreciate it when hes here haha

Oh my!

I'm so jealous!

I never got the nesting urge with either of my pregnancy's. My kitchen cupboards were looking forward to having some attention too!

(Oh well, that's another reason to add to my list of why we should have a 3rd - to hopefully get the nesting instinct!!)

HappyChildminderBerkshire · 03/04/2009 14:02

I'm just jealous of the "steam gun".... that sounds ever so effective! BTW if you see a heavily pregnant woman leaning out the upstairs window, cleaning the windows.... that's me!

ah my kind of thread!

how about, for extreme cleaning but very satisfying...

cleaning the greasy fudge off the cooker's extractor fan. never ever done in our house so BIG difference! cif works wonders!

mrsflux · 03/04/2009 15:45

also if you pull out the washer drawer a little once you've finished a wash it doesn't get so icky so quick

HappyChildminderBerkshire · 03/04/2009 19:49

MrsFlux - that is taking cleaning to a whole new level! TBH, just the thought makes my stomach turn a bit!! Although if I had a steam gun..... hmmmmmm....... (sneaks off to argos.co.uk to look for steam guns)
