Small amount of brown discharge

Hi ladies,
Am over 9 weeks pregnant and have had three scans so far (5+6=yolk sac, 8 weeks=HB and last night=measurements and heartrate both fine).
Had a small amount of brown discharge in knickers at 7 and 8 weeks and then a tiny bit more today. The scan last night was abdominal and the consultant told us that our rate of m/c was now around 1% but I'm now on panic mode after having a m/c in September.
Any thoughts? TIA.

brown discharge v v normal, if you search you'll find loads of similar threads - so you should relax. If you're worried you can always make an appointment with your GP to talk it over though.

I had the same thing - brown blood three times at weeks 6, 8 and 12 I think. It nearly drove me loopy because I had had a miscarriage the year before. But all was well - it stopped after 12 weeks and my son is now 6 months old. It may have been a coincidence but each of the bleeding episodes occurred immediately after a scan. Anyway I would be reassured by the fact that the bleeding has stopped twice now and the pg carried on ok as that does not sound like a miscarriage.

It's your body getting rid of all the old blood that has been sitting there since your last period.

It's absolutely nothing to worry about at all - think of it as spring cleaning your baby's home for the next nine months.

If you see red blood though, you should contact a MW, but brown is fine.
