Anybody around to tell me if this is normal?

Hi I am 36+3 and have been up most of the night so far after heading to bed about 10pm. I was fine until I went to bed but I got there and felt really unwell and I sort of drifted in and out of sleep for a bit. The main thing though is my tummy feels really squashed. I know that sounds stupid as it is already squashed from being pregnant but I meant everything feels tight and like I am wearing something really tight around my belly that is squashing my baby and me? No idea if that makes any sense but thats the best way I can describe it at the moment! Anyway I have since then had to run to the loo and have vomited up pretty much everything I had eaten this evening which was really sore. My back is also killing me (which is usual but this is different - in a different part and a different sort of pain).

Can anybody tell me if this is normal and if they have had it before? This is my second baby and I don't remember ever having this feeling before?

Hi Soon2be, my first thought was BHicks but when you mention vomitting and back pain I thought perhaps early labour pains?? Sorry, don't want to freak you out but what do you think?

soon2befamilyof4 · 29/03/2009 03:14

They are not BH but not contractions either. It is not the right pain.

It could possibly be early labour - which is what I was worried about. I am annemic which apparently makes early labour a possibility.

Not being sic any more. Still have the tummy ache. I feel like I want to eat something - but don't want to be sick again?

Typical as DD is screaming the place down upstairs and DH is up dealing with her so neither of us are getting any sleep!

Well I am still here! No further signs it could be labour so think that was a faulse alarm. Was up most of the night as DD helpfully decided not to sleep as she is teething - just what I need! DH not being very helpful TBH and is still in bed. Feeling pretty crap but possibly just for lack of sleep. Going to look round a car boot sale now just to pass some time as I am going to loose my mind staying in with a grumpy baby. Meeting my mum there so if all goes wrong I won't be on my own.

Hope you are okay and things have settled down. Get a good nights sleep tonight.

Well I am still being sick but not much else. VERY tired though as DD has turned into the non sleeping zombie baby! She is soo grumpy. DH has got to be at work by 7am so can't really make him stay up all night with DD. She has just gone to sleep and I am praying she stays asleep but she went to sleep at this time yesterday and woke at 1am and wouldn't go back to bed. Poor girl watched TV most of the night!
