Really upset...highlights

Hi,

I'm seven weeks pregnant after mc last year. I was reassured temporarily by seeing a nice strong heartbeat during a scan yesterday. I'm now completely spinning out after having highlights and T section touched up this afternoon. I asked the nurse during my last visit and she said it was fine and my hairdresser said it was inconclusive but I've just been googling the net for the last hour and am now so worried that I've harmed my baby... just as I was starting to relax a little.

Any ideas?

Have had my hair highlighted/lowlighted/dyed during 3 pgs - no problems.

Highlights are fine, they don't touch the scalp anyway so nothing can pass through the skin. I had my hair highlighted whilst pg. Don't worry, honestly!

I had my highlights done when I was pg. It's better than dyes as the bleach does not touch your scalp. You have not harmed your baby.

STOP GOOGLING THINGS.

Thank you so much. What about the T section... that would've touched the scalp? I am so rubbish at this. Keep on forgetting everything and ordering raw fish garnished with blue cheese and homemade mayo.

A T section with bleach would not have touched your scalp. You would have felt it burning if it did.

i highlighted throughout my pregnancy no problems! there's bugger all evidence to suggest that dyeing does anyting to the baby and even if it did the safest thing to have would be highlights as they are so much more limited. you'll be fine (and blonde..)

Think of the ladies that do your hair. My friends didn't wear gloves to do her job, top colourist, when she was pregnant. I asked her this and she said half a head is fine, the only thing you should do is full bleach all over. But even then it won't pass to baby it can make you sensitive to the stuff thats all.

i had highlights twice during pregnancy, dont worry bout it, relax and enjoy new hair do, made me feel much better.

I had highlights when I was pg - spend 6 weeks in hospital with hyperemisis and DS is fine (and also blonde!). My hairdresser was also pg at the time with her second. She has had trouble conceiving both her babies and was fully versed on highlights etc in pg. Her babies are both fabby too.

Chill out and get off Google!
