It could be a uti. I got one at 37 weeks and it felt like this- the symptoms went on until 39 weeks when it was finally detected and antibiotics treated it (I remember the huge sense of relief after just 1 day of treatment!)
Could you get a sample tested?

mama2leah · 28/03/2009 19:47

ahh il try goin doctors, what are signs of uti?

Maybe it's varicose veins up there. Horrible, but possible. I'm stupidly tender around my bits, and have sharp, shooting pains occasionally too. Just another of the myriad selection of mystery pains I've been experiencing since November...

Haylstones · 28/03/2009 20:08

My symptoms werej ust as you describe, stabbing pain at times and a general achey feeling at others- pain was very very low down, under bump. It was also worse when I stood up. It can also be accompanied by pain when on the toilet (however, I often get utis and rarely get this symptom bizarrely!)
If you think it might be that, try drinking plenty of water and cranberry juice toflush it through- might relieve it before you get to the GP.
Hope all is OK!

How many weeks are you?
UTIs are common in pregnancy and it is best to treat them asap. I am plagued by them (touch wood, have been ok recently) and ended up with a horrid kidney infection whilst breastfeeding and unable to take the antibiotics I really needed- was threatened with hospital admission but htankfully in the end my GP found a suitable antibiotic that actually worked. Motto is- if at all in doubt do get it checked!
