Aches & Pains! GRRR

Hello everyone!

I'm 34 weeks (and 5 days) pregnant with my first child.
Last night, I started getting tummy pains, didn't think anything of it, every sort of half-hour/45 minutes. Nothing major, just gripping "period" pains in my lower tummy.
This morning, I had a bout of the runs, and I've just checked my underwear and they're a little damp.
I'm still getting tummy cramps, there's not really a pattern, as such, still the same as last night, really.

Should I be worried about the onslaught of labour? Should I call the hospital, or should I just grin and bear it?

Obviously, being pregnant for the first time, I feel very naive about the whole process, how do I know I've had my show if I get regular discharge? How do I know my waters have broken, if they 'trickle' and not gush? How do I tell the difference between bad period pains and contractions?

HELP!!
Thank you, in advance, for any advice!

Hi there, my only advise would be is to phone your midwife/ doctor. They will be in the best position to answer your questions and decide whether you should be seen. Why worry yourself if they can help to settle it all. Good luck!

Well, I left it a week, and ended up having to go to hospital on Wednesday afternoon! They kept me in overnight, but as of yet, there is no baby!
All is fine now though!
