Advice anyone

I have finally got a positive pregnancy test last week and due to prev mc's the dr wanted to see me staright away, i was then ref to midwife who both gave me an exmination and put me at around 12 weeks, my prev period had been really light compared to normal!

To be sure i was sent for a dating scan yesterday and they couldnt see very much at all! The lady doing the ultrasound said i was very early around 5 weeks and they couldnt see a "fetel Pole" so i have to go back in 3 weeks for another scan. I got really upset and took this to mean im not actually pregnant which dh keeps shouting at me for!

There is a sac and a yolk sac seen within and she did go on to say i was in the very early stages of pregnancy but i feel really deflated!

Midwife had me thining id see a lot more!

Do i just need slapping or do i have anything to worry about? This would be my first, and HPT is still positive

To be fair, if the midwife thought you were 12 weeks she would expect you to see more.

go by what you see on the scan and if you've seen a sac and yolk thats a good sign for 5 weeks ,
i had a scan yesterday think i was 7-8 weeks due to previous miscarriages and sonographer saw nothing at all except a thickened womb lining ! that got me all upset too
but at least we are pregnant and things are fine we've just gotta be more patient
did they take any bloodwork from you ?

God knows, but sac and yolk sac sounds normal for five weeks.

no tink didnt have any blood taken, just spoken to midwife and she says there is nothing to wrry about everything is perfectly normal and i am definately pregnant, just have to wait till the 16th which seems ages away!!
Your right though we have to be patient, when do you have to go back??

i dont know i've never had an internal examination that early before i thought they didnt do em now
probably due to how soft etc things were
i really would'nt worry your just not as far along thats all , consulatant told me i'm more like 4/5 weeks not 7/8 weeks but my bloodwork was good and i have another scan next week to check things are growing so will hopefully see little bean then
will they not offer you a scan sooner than 3 weeks ?

No tink. cos they said that bean should be 6 weeks by then and would see a heartbeat!

I will just have to sit it out xx
