Hi everyone
I'm in agony here lower back. It's so unbelievably sore that it's making me feel sick. It's almost like a burning pain. Too low for kidneys I think. It's been on and off all day. Not contractions type on and off but like half an hour or more of horrible pain then nothing. Anyone any ideas?
TMI part is I've had a fair bit of mucus today but DP was up for the night so we had sex a few times, which might explain mucus sorry!
I'm 37 weeks today.

Mucus was probably the plug coming away. With ds1, I had similar sounding back pains for 3 days before I couldn't handle it anymore and went to hospital. Ds1 was born the next day and contractions never moved to the front. They stayed like that in my back

thanks for your reply, it's still quite bad today, worse after walking. I think it could be baby wriggling down lower. Could be wrong though, I'll just have to wait and see. Bloody sore though!

Can you give your midwife a ring and speak to her? Semen can trigger labour (something to do with a hormone) so you might be having back labour pains. At the least you'll get your mind put at rest.

Sorry about the back pain - but impressed at the 'sex a few times' - are you sure the sex didn't cause it? You can't be as agile as you were pre-pregnancy....

ha ha I was impressed with the sex a few times too! He was only home for a night so it was a bit of a sesh!
will phone if it gets worse or more like contractions. It's more of a constant pain.

If it's a constant pain, and not labour, I would want to get it checked by a Dr myself, not least to find out how to manage the pain before labour does appear!
