Not too much you can do for the moment.

Mine's the same, showed up on the 20 week scan as covering my cervix. Sonographer seemed supremely unconcerned and I am being rescanned at 36 weeks to see if it's moved.

Since then, of course, I have scared myself half to death by googling. But, to be honest, other than be alert to bleeding etc, there's not really anything you can do.

How many weeks are you now?

2o weeks 4 days....

Are they going to scan you again later in your pregnancy?

If it's just low lying, rather than covering your cervix, there's a really good chance it will move up, as your belly stretches.

Do you know if it's anterior or posterior?

Mine was 16mm from the cervix at the 20 week scan and they didn't rescan. You can't do anything about it but might be able to get a scan later on to make sure it's moved up. I asked about another scan but they wouldn't do it.

No he was born 5 weeks ago. All perfectly straightforward

Speak to your midwife about it at your next appointment, they should be able to put your mind at rest. Do you know how low it is? Did you get a measurement?

Shouldn't there be a road sign for low flying placenta like there is for low flying aircraft?
Seriously though hope it isokay mama.
