How to tell the difference between BH and contractions?

Hi ya. I am 36 weeks today and my back has been killing me this evening so using TENS which isn't really helping but at least I am doing something.

But I also have a slight tummy ache and strong braxton hicks. Just wanted to see if there is any way of double checking that they are just BH? They probably are but just being paranoid as we are not ready for this baby!

I am going to take some painkillers now and head for bed but wanted to ask here first!

Trust me, when they are real contractions you will know.

BH will stop if you walk about but contractions won't.

Well I was in labour for 49 hours last time so the contractions did start off very mild and if my waters hadn't broken then no I probably wouldn't have been 100% sure.
