Anyone had a Babybond 4d scan? Or any 4d scan?

I'm very impatient to know the sex of this baby as the sonographer couldn't be sure at the 20wk scan. He said he thinks he could see a little willy but would only say he was 85% sure it was a boy .

Dh isn't keen on paying for any sort of scan and wants to wait. So should i try and talk him into a 4d scan or just wait? We didn't have a 4d scan with ds or know the sex til he was born.

Hiya phoenix

DH and I went to Babybond for a 4d scan 2 weeks ago for our birthday treats (1 day between us) and it was the best thing I have ever done. My mum paid and it was expensive £199 but the price all depends on the type of package you want I would highly recommend the scan, there are a few photos of my gorgeous baby girl on my profile page if you want to have a look, they said the sex of baby was 99.9% accurate. However as mine was a gift I didn;t need to think whether the money would have been better spent elsewhere which is something you would need to consider

If you go for the scan I hope you enjoy it!

I had one with DS, it was great. We already knew the sex though.

What is DH's objection, is it the money? They are quite expensive, so if you can't afford it, just wait.

Awww the photos are great lauraloo. There is a Babybond near us and i have looked at the packages on the website. I just need to convince dh.

Yeah flowerybeanbag it's the money. He says we could spend that amount of money on something useful.

I would LOVE to have one but keep thinking what I could do with the money for the baby once he/she was actually born. If you have the money though, go for it!

Well i've got a Visa card

With both my daughters I didn't want to know, I kneeded to know. I don't do surprises and no I'm not a control freak!!!
Both my 4d scans were with Baby Bond as they were the nearest and for me were worth it as nhs scans had been inconclusive on their sex. Finding out the sex is such a personal thing though.

P.S were you a Cristmas present peeker?

jabberwocky · 28/03/2009 01:03

I didn't do it with ds1 and then did with ds2. I loved it. I so wish now that I had done it with my first pregnancy. It's one of those things that you only have one opportunity to do so I say go for it

Dh is coming around to the idea a bit

Does anyone know how much Babybond charge for extra colour pics? Dh wants to go for the cheapest option but would like a colour pic too and the site says you can add extras but there is no price.

And at how many weeks pg is it best to have the scan done? I know it says between 24-32 but is there any week that is clearer/better?

I dont know the extra prices sorry I would give them a call and find out I got my scan done at 25+6 and the photos are on my profile. My SIL went at 28 weeks and the photos were a little clearer tbh.

Glad your DH is coming round to the idea

Phoenix · 28/03/2009 21:58

I've booked one for 3wk today, i'll be 27+1.

phoenix glad you booked a scan...if your able to post your photos please post them I love looking at scan photos

Good luck and enjoy!

jabberwocky · 28/03/2009 22:12

I think I was around 30 weeks. Can't remember exactly. I do know that if you wait too late it's not as good b/c baby is too big for the full view pics.

MrsMcJnr · 29/03/2009 09:58

Mine have been a bit disappointing because the placenta is anterior and her face hasn't been as clear as it could have been.

jabberwocky · 30/03/2009 02:18

The placenta was rather close to one side of ds2 as well. One interesting thing was that the cord was sort of floating in the area of his neck at the scan and then at birth he had a triple nuchal cord! Luckily we were doing an elective section anyway.

MrsMcJnr · 30/03/2009 19:42

I've been warned that there aren't currently any loops of cord around her neck but there is a high liklihood that might change

angevee · 31/03/2009 17:15

I had one with DD2 at 28 weeks and it was fab. She wasn't playing on the first attempt so they asked me back the following week and we managed to get the most wonderful pics.

hedgiemum · 31/03/2009 17:24

I had one this week with a private clinic here in Oxon. The consultant discovered that the "girl" the sonographer had "seen" is in fact a boy - so money very well spent imo, saved me a fortune in mis-bought baby clothes! This is my 4th and the 1st time I've had a 3d/4d scan, as before this clinic opened I'd have had to travel to ldn which didn't seem worth the hassle. I've had a hard pregnancy, and the gorgeous photos have really helped me to get less miserable this time. And the 4d scan footage has given me my most interesting facebook post ever!
Ours cost £250, was an hour long, with an obstetric consultant and included all photos, plus 4d footage on a memory stick.
Anyone in Oxon - I'd highly recommend Beard Mill clinic.

June2009 · 31/03/2009 19:21

We had one at week 28 as well with babybond and quite happy with it, it was an extra £10 to get colour (yellowish) pics on a CD.
I thought it was over very quick, 10-15 minutes max. Dh kinda wishes we'd waited a bit longer in the pregnancy to have "better" pics. I don't think it would have made a big difference, the baby is so big that they can only show you bits at a time.

I think we paid just under 150 in total,

DH also says that the still pics on the cd aren't really worth it because you could get them from the 4D dvd anyway.
It was worth it for me though as I do not know how to use to software to get stills out of the 4D dvd. (He is a bit of a geek.)

I just had to put the cd in my computer, click on a pic and drag it onto msn to show my bro'

They also confirmed the sex of the baby for us. (good cause everything we got is pink or girly!)

Phoenix · 31/03/2009 22:24

I emailed Banybond and they said about the £10 cd rom and extra pics for £5 each. We've booked the cheapest £129 package and we're going to get the cd rom too.

I'm so excited, i can't wait
