hi , i'm thinking of getting one of those heart listening monitors to listen to the baby in a few weeks .
most of the ones i've seen say that they will work around 21 weeks onwards ,
has anyone used one ?
are they any good ?
and when did you hear anything ?
i'm just wondering if it will be a waste of money or something great especially if DH cant make midwife appointment etc

i think there are a waste of time and money and make already anixous people more anxious

We bought one when I was pregnant with dd2 - thought it was great actually. I have fond memories of dh and I lying in bed listening to her heart beating away. Not always easy to find the heartbeat mind you!

Have to say it was a bit of an indulgent purchase though, certainly not something to spend money on if you can spend it better elsewhere!

I bought one and highly recommend it, it is an angelsounds one which I got from amazon

I avoided buying one because I figured it would make me anxious and I would start obsessively checking for the heartbeat and freaking out if I couldn't find it.

thanks , when could you hear it from ?
i'd just like it as a luxury for a few moments at home because i remember when i heard it at the midwifes with dd1 and never wanting it to end

I also bought Angelsounds [waves hi to lauraloo] and think its great. I am 30 weeks today and got it 2 weeks ago, so probably too far gone to help as to when you can hear it from. I also found that it can be hard to find the heartbeat, but lovely when you do. We bought it to hear her, but also just in case she stopped moving and I was worried. Hasn't happened yet! The MW at UCH said they are fine to use, too. Hope this helps!

I bought angelsounds in my 18 weeks and its fantastic to listen baby's heartbeat every day. Very soothing.
