I highly reccomend the Angelsounds one as well (£30 off ebay). I heard a clear heartbeat at just under 13 weeks, when the midwife couldn't on her professional one!! Still using it occasionally now (35 weeks) and it has saved me a great deal of stress and worry.

Top tips are to make sure you get one with ultrasound gel as you will not hear anything without that ( you can restock for about £3 a bottle off ebay when you run out as well)

Make sure you replace the battery frequently or the heartbeat becomes very quiet even though the machine still works, which can cause worry.

And I highly recommend going on Youtube and listening to the different sounds you will hear, that way you will be able to tell between the placenta (whooshing), the cord and the heartbeat (galloping) Hth

Hi all,

A quick question about the Angelsounds Doppler... I bought one off of Ebay also and I was using it most days (just once a day for a few minutes over a 2 week period) and the Sonographer at my last scan told me off and said that it was dangerous and can heat the baby's brain if you hit the brain while you're trying to find the heartbeat... So I've been too scared to use it since (I'm currently 29 weeks PG and got it about a month ago...).

Has anyone else heard about this? I didn't mention what make it was, but it's really worried me...

Other than that, I've also found the Angelsounds one absolutely brilliant!!
