Crikey-possibly 11 weeks already - only found out last week

Hi all
Went to my GP on Thursday to arrange next steps. She worked out that I could possibly be 11 weeks and sent me straight to local hospital to book an urgent dating scan, but they can't fit me in until Monday.
All seems to be happening v quick! Part of me is glad, but a huge part of me is getting anxious for the next bit - the nuchal scan - I'm just getting my head round the fact that I'm pregnant!
Did anyone else find out they were pregnant late on?

I have known fairly early on both times but wish I hadn't as there is a fair bit of angst and fretting which can get a bit tiresome. I think not knowing about it until you are almost at the 12 week stage must be quite nice. Once the scan is out of the way you will feel a lot better. Were you actively trying (as guessing not)?

No we weren't trying. We've been together for 10 yrs (married for 1 1/2 yrs) and just went with "if it happens, it happens". Although to be honest I was starting to think that it was less likely to happen now after such a long time.

hey emee, I was 14 weeks when found out with ds1! (don't ask!) and yeah its all pretty rushed at first! Bit of a whirlwind! But he was fine and the preg sure went a lot quicker than with ds2 when i found out about 2 minutes post conception!!! Now 13 wks with dd1 (that feels weird!) and this one feels like its going fast too! Congratulations!!!

Hi emme I was 16 weeks when I found out and it wasn't until DS was 24 weeks that I had my first and only scan. It certainly all went very quickly especially as he was born 6 weeks early. It's all so exciting. Don't worry, just enjoy it! Congratulations.

paranoidmummy, how do you know you're having a girl if you're only 13 weeks? could they see at the first scan? I have my scan next week, also 13 weeks but with first 2 DC have always been told they can't tell sex until 20 week scan.

Would be thrilled if I could find out the sex this early

memoo as far as I know they can't sex at 12 wk scan. I had a cvs for this pregnancy as ds2 is deaf owing to a certain gene so 1 in 4 chance this baby would be. She isn't though. As we had her chromosomes from the test they could tell us whether XY or XX! HTH

emee I am very - how wonderful to miss the first trimester Hope all goes well at the scan.

memoo - with ds we were told the sex at 13 weeks though she did stress that it couldn't be confirmed until we got to 20 weeks.
