Horrible stomach pains, probably a result of constipation

I spent the early hours of this morning doubled up with pain due to really bad stomach pains. Aside from obvious worry that it might be to do with the baby (I'm twenty weeks) I recognised the pain as more 'bowel related'(the evil smelling farts were what really convinced me though)
Anyhoo - my bowels have surrendered slightly, but not enough to stop the pangs (although the pain isn't as bad)
Does anyone have a quick fix I could use? I can't take laxatives obviously and hot water isn't helping.

My midwife suggested eating an orange or drinking a glass of fresh orange then having a hot cup of tea, which i know sounds strange but it has worked for me.

You could also try 5/6 dried apricots every day which may also help.

This is one of the joys of pregnancy that no one tells you about .

You can take fibregel (sp). I had horrible constipation around 20 weeks. If it makes you feel better I think the baby moved because it did get better.
