Anyone with experience of Dorchester or Salisbury Maternity Units?

I'm in Bournemouth and had fairly horrific experiences at Poole Hospital for the birth of my dd's. My midwife has suggested looking at Dorchester or Salisbury but I have no idea what they are like and also not sure how I feel about a 45 min journey to get to hospital. Does anyone have any experience of either of these maternity units?

Dorchester is great. Have had 2 DC's there first by emergency section second by planned. The rooms are huge with a birthing side and a recovery side and are ensuite. That is where you go when you arrive so not on a communal ward and then moved and they do try to keep you in there for as long as possible but the wards are small anyway. It always had a very calm atmosphere aswell. You can book a hospital tour.

Dorchester is nice, Midwives were very nice, even the training midwife who stayed an extra three hours past her shift. Delivery rooms are nice. altho got moved in with other mums quite quickly so bit disappointed as id prefered if dh could have stayed.
