surprise bfp and can't tell DH tonight!

Just got a bfp and am still reeling from the shock. Really didn't expect to be pregnant this month after only having sex once! (I know, I know, it only takes once). We had decided to leave things to fate after I had coil removed in Jan but have been taking folic acid. Already have DD age 3.

Did test tonight as period due sometime this week and felt a bit headachey and queasy but expected it to be negative.

Don't want to tell DH as he's currently staying up late preparing for big job interview tomorrow.

Blimey. Come and hold my hand please.

Oh CONGRATULATIONS

callmeovercautious · 18/03/2009 22:11

Congratulations.

And good luck to DH

mrsbeng · 18/03/2009 22:13

Thanks! I hope he gets it too. It's a salary drop but way more interesting than what he's doing now. He's terrified of interviews so I really can't tell him. He'd freak out big time.
I'm such a bad secret keeper though. I should be able to hang on for 24 hours. We're about to go on holiday... I'll think about packing!

Distraction... Where are you going? Somewhere nice this year?

mrsbeng · 18/03/2009 22:21

We're going to visit some friends in Germany. Will get to meet 1yr old daughter of very old friend, so really looking forward to that.

Ohh - think of it as some practice with babies again

Germany is lovely, expensive at the minute though!

mrsbeng · 19/03/2009 09:09

Well, after a very sleepless night managed to act normally this morning and wish him luck for later today. Now feeling very nauseous, but suspect that is due to nerves and lack of sleep than ms!
He'll be back around 5:30. Have a busy day planned with DD so hope will be able to keep mind off things. My mind is a whirl though.

OMG, how on earth are you managing to keep it a secret?! Ha, I would have no chance!

flamingtoaster · 19/03/2009 09:46

Congratulations - and well done for keeping it secret. Good luck to your DH - hope he gets the job.

rainbowdays · 19/03/2009 10:06

Congratulations on your BFP!

Well done for keeping it a secret so far, how are you planning on telling him tonight? Will you wait til after he has said how his interview went or will you tell him straight off????

Dont forget to do the packing too....
Hope the nausea is not too bad today.

mrsbeng · 19/03/2009 14:01

I have no idea how I'm going to tell him.. been musing on that all morning! I think he'll be pretty shocked. We've been saying for the last few weeks that neither of us thought I'd be pregnant so soon and after so few attempts this month.
Think I'll wait until DD in bed then sit him down with a glass of wine for him then tell him why I'm not having one.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/03/2009 14:03

How are you doing?

worriedamy · 19/03/2009 14:07

Still can't believe you have managed to keep it a secret (how bad do I sound?!?)... when I found out I couldn't even wait for my boyf to finish having a wash in the bathroom and burst in to show him the test while his face was covered in soap and he couldn't even read it anyway!!

mrsbeng · 19/03/2009 14:08

I'm ok thanks. Still feeling very queasy, but I really think it's more nerves and lack of sleep. I'll be glad when I can tell him. I'm rubbish at secrets too so this is agony for me!
It's all a bit strange. I was very ill with pnd after DD so it has taken quite a while to feel ready again. Was very pleased when I saw the bfp though, was glad to have had such a positive reaction.

Not long left now til you can tell him tho!!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/03/2009 18:34

Have you told him?

mrsbeng · 19/03/2009 20:07

Yes, waited until DD in bed and told him I had done something last night I needed to tell him about. He probably thought I'd bought something expensive on the internet
He's very chuffed though, and was glad I had managed to sit on the news for 24hours. He often quotes the time I booked a secret weekend away and told him five minutes after I'd done it!
Interview went very well but they have more people to see so won't find out for a while.
Best go and pack. Haven't done anything and flight leaves tomorrow pm.
