i wonder if any of you conception aware ladies can help me? I am FINALLY pg after a very long time trying however...my periods have been irregular, some 60 days then 50 then 40, i thought i was heading in the right direction, i obviously was!

Last period was 23/01 (after 61 day cycle!!)so by my reckoning, i am just over 7 weeks. I did do a CBD with conception indicator ( not by choice, all tesco had!!) and when i tested on 25th feb its said 1-2 weeks ago for conception then on 26th it said 2-3 so DP and i thought ok two weeks ago. I have since done 4 more non-digi tests because im paranoid!! I am definately pg according to the tests and see MW fri, basically im just wondering am i ok to count my weeks from first day of last period, or would my other periods affect the due date?

also is the fact that my nausea is only mild, a sign that i might miscarry? im so scared of that, i want this baby so much, we had been trying over a year and had our first frtility consultant appointment so i'd almost lost hope of natural conception. also every time i get a slight belly ache i think im loosing the baby. I just want this worry to pass...

sorry to ramble

Your worries are completely normal, but you must try to relax.

When I was pregnant with my DD I never (not once) felt sick. A lack of nausea, or mild nausea is no indicator of anything.

Initially the midwife will calculate your due date by reference to your last period. Obviously if you have a cycle which is not 28 days with ovulation on day 14, this can be inaccurate. The conception indicator thingies are not infallible, but if your last period was 23/01 and (according to the HPT) you were approx 2 weeks from conception on 26/02 then it doesn't sound to me as though your dates will be more than a week out in any event, which is not a big deal.

When you have your dating scan at around 11-13 weeks your hospital may give you a different due date. Your due date only really matters when you get to the end and if the hospital has a policy re induction. I'd cross that bridge when you come to it if I were you.

Oh, and congratulations.

Really, try to not worry too much. I know that's easy to say...

I agree with MrsHappy. You will get a more definitely due date after your dating scan, because if your periods are irregular there really is no way to tell when exactly you ovulated.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It took DH and I 18 months to get pregnant. I am now 26 weeks along!
