I went to the dentist yeserday with toothache which was like the pain i had last year when i needed root canal treatment, but dentist thinks that i have a sinus infection which does seam about right as i have had blocked nose and sore head on and off for a few weeks.

Has got a lot worse tonight esp the headache does anyone know if i can take any decongestants? ie sudafed? Will goto chemist tomorrow but could really be doing with something tonight.

Thanks

You can't take any decongestants. Sorry. No Lemsip, either. Only paracetamol, which helps with the pain but doesn't relieve the pressure.

I had this in December and still wake up with a blocked nose (29 weeks pregnant these days) although pain has gone . Something about pregnancy increasing bodily secretions.

I'm on my second sinus infection of this pregnancy (29 weeks) it is absolutely miserable

I agree no decongestants menthol inhalation is okay (gives temporary relief) & paracetamol but tbh neither really help thatr much. Dr said codeine would be okay but I'm so constpated already from the iron I can't face taking it. My teeth hurt, my head hurts, I can't chew & it feels like my face is going to explode sob

I used this www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=9333&callingViewName= &langId=-1&catalogId=11051. It was like a miracle cure in about 24 hours. Also had teeth pain, exploding face feeling and disgusting snot (sorry for tmi) and they just went. It was the only one on the shelf that said suitable for pregnant women. I know its not cheap but its well worth it.

I had a sinus infection for three weeks over Christmas, twas horrible. The only thing that cleared it was antibiotics (amoxycillin is fine in pregnancy).

I had a sinus infection recently and had terrible tooth ache too and a painful eye socket.

I spent a few days with my head in a bowl of steam and then i managed to clear the blockage. It wasnt pleasent but i didnt need antibiotics in the end it just went away on its own.

tmi but some of the stuff i blew out was gross..

I seem to remember massaging my sinus area too

Just remembered. 'Snufflebabe' rubbed over the cheeks (where it hurts) - doesn't get rid of it but eases the symptoms for a while.

I have chronic sinus problems and my doctor has prescribed cocodamel (I am 38 weeks pregnant). The pain at times is crippling. I find sitting or lying with a heated weat pack excellent for pain relief.

I sometimes have ABs but if you can bear it, sometimes it will shift with other treatments, hopi ear candles, nasal rinse, peppermint oil in steamer (do NOT apply peppermint to skin in PG). sniffing peppermint oil, blowing your nose while steaming (YUK)

I have also read that you should'nt eat berries or dairy products. I do eat dairy as I'm not sure about cutting it out in pregnancy.

My doctor also insits that I take the nasal spray Nasonex but I don't as it does very little for me.

I feel you pain.
