Can anyone explain the Granuum grade of placentas to me please?

Ladies I was just wondering what this meant, at yesterday's appointment (I'm 28 weeks) the notes said that my placenta was Granuum grade 2 whereas last time it was mentioned it was grade 1. I thought this related to the position in relation to the cervix? is grade 1 better than grade 2?

me too - never heard of it

If it is to with placenta previa then here so grade 1 is better - further away from the cervix. Never heard the term Granuum though

Thanks, that was what I was concerned about, I had hoped it would be further away from the cervix this time rather than closer to it, maybe its a typo
