Natural Heartburn Remedies?

Does anyone have any? I'm 25 + 2 and its really started to kick in. I find Gaviscon so very gross, its worse than the heartburn, in my opinion. And I also hate drinking milk!

So does anyone know any natural remedies that are safe while pregnant?

I used to carry a little tube of toothpaste and sucked on that for a bit when heartburn hit, I found it helped, not for long though

The only thing that has worked for me is not eating meals in the evening! I have been having a main meal at lunch time and then just yoghurt/crisps/fruit at tea time. It really has helped as when I now lay down to go to sleep there isn't much in my stomach to press upwards! Only downside is that I wake up ravenous!

I find the minty gaviscon liquid is bearable - the other flavour is yuk!

Try peppermint and nettle tea. I find sipping 3 cups a day slowly whilst sat bolt upright has definately eased the heartburn. Not as immediate relief as Gaviscon but overall much less pain throughout the day!

Spearmint chewing gum and refreshers sweets (the fizzy ones in the tube not the chewy ones). Not particularly natural but found they worked for me!

I find Rennies so much more pleasant and effective than Gaviscon which I agree is foul! Peppermint tea is also good but Ranitidine from your Dr is the best although it's beginning to fail me too. Roll on childbirth!

Milk is acid so will not help you.

You need to drink lots of probiotic natural yogurt which is alkaline and will help neutralise the acid.

I found that sipping sparkling water throughout the day kept heartburn at bay.
