So where's my morning sickness?

I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant and feeling quite anxious as I don't 'feel' very pregnant. I'm having a scan in a couple of weeks as I have a history of early miscarriage and they want to check for a heartbeat. But before that, I SO want to have full on symptoms so as to feel this one is going to make it...!

I've got slightly sore boobs (they were more sore end of last week), AF style cramps and constipation which I know are all symptoms. But when is it usual for morning sickness to kick in?

About six weeks I think. Or maybe not at all. I didn't have it will DS1 and only slight nausea with DS2.

feetheart · 10/03/2009 17:43

Never did with me in either pregnancy. Keep your fingers crossed and good luck

Queenie,

Please don't worry - I have a very healthy and happy 9 month old DS and am 19 weeks PG with No 2.

I haven't had a bean of morning sickness with either of them... Haven't had any cravings or put on weight ... no sore boobs / swollen boobs... In fact, no sign at all I might be pregnant - sometimes, there just isn't any MS

I'm sorry about the miscarriages, but just take your vits and FA and try to relax...

Just pray that you DON'T get it. It's misery.

minko · 10/03/2009 17:50

Around 6 weeks I think, it varies. With DD I had none at all, and with DS felt rough as from week 6 to week 13.

Megglevache · 10/03/2009 17:52

Mine didn't kick in until 8 weeks.

crossing fingers for you that you don't get it.

queenie1 · 10/03/2009 17:53

Thanks everyone. Very reassuring and yes, I just need to relax and believe this is going to happen with or without morning sickness.

McSnail - I said to my mum last night that I really wanted to feel sick and she assured me I didn't as she was bed-ridden for two months with me!

First vomming session at 6 weeks, completely took me by surprise. Then felt increasingly nauseous, and still barfing and feeling nauseous all the time at 16 weeks. Honestly hope you don't get it---I never expected to hate pregnancy this much.

All 4 times - 7 weeks. Just when I was starting to feel pregnant and think I wasn't going to have morning sickness... then it started.

JaneSeymour · 10/03/2009 19:45

Oh ho

said what you said to my friend at 5wks 3 days

Gorionine · 10/03/2009 19:48

Try not to worry.

I have a 5yrs and 18mth dd's and am currantly 40+3 wks and have never had morning sickness in any of my pregnancies.

sarah76 · 12/03/2009 16:11

David, my husband would offer mine up in a heartbeat. Makes him feel helpless. He has to help me get my clothes off and puts me in the shower when I have my Exorcist moments.

ollie131 · 12/03/2009 18:44

I am 6 weeks pregnant with my first and I have no real symptoms either except the sore boobs. My sister has told me not to wish it on as soon I will be feeling sick and so tired I feel like I've been hit by a bus! Sisiters are good for positive things like that!

hancan · 14/04/2009 21:02

I too was worried re no morning sickness at 5 weeks!!!!! stupid me coz now i am sick to my stomach (6 wks +5 days) regularly draped over the bowl,...feeling dreadful at work....i am even waking up at 2am and 3am and 5am feeling sick sick sick!! each time i awoke dreaming about warmed up sausage rolls and pizza...urgghhhh!!! i can't open the fridge. or think about what i want to eat...so tomorrow i will arm myself with Jacobs crackers and jacket potatoes. everything else is too creamy...too stinky...to moist...totally off food. opposite to 1st pregnancy where eating helped alleviate the syptoms...

BikeRunSki · 15/04/2009 09:44

5 Weeks - found out I was pg.
6 weeks - Asked sister if it was normal to feel so ok
7 weeks - day off work for feeling so sick
8 weeks - being sick
9 weeks - hospitalised with hyperemisis (excessive vomitting, not keeping anything down, even water) . In and out for 6 weeks, 4 admissions.
17 weeks - went back to work

Hopefully you won't get it as bad as me, but don't count your chickens just yet!
