Hello I'm new and looking for reassurance

I had a positive pregnancy test on 22/02/09, and as I am diabetic and my first child Adam was stillborn last September (36weeks) I had an early scan last Friday 06/03/09. The consultant did an internal scan and said they could only see a sac and it was small only 8mm and they couldn't see anything else, by my dates I would have been 6 weeks + 2 days. They said that my dates could be wrong or it's not a viable pregnancy. I have to go back in two weeks for another scan if nothing happens in between iykwim. I did a Clearblue digital test on 22/02/09 and it said 1-2weeks. I did another one on Saturday 07/03/09 and it said 3+, you're supposed to add 2weeks, so that would have made me 5+ when I had the scan not 6+. I was going to do another test in the week to make sure as I haven't been offered blood tests to check if my hormone levels are doubling. Any ideas?

I had the exact same thing at my early scan, scheduled because of my diabetes. I am now 25 weeks pregnant!

I think its way to early to scan. I did also have bloods taken, and I would insist that they do that for you.

Thanks, I've not had sore boobs or any morning sickness either, I heard they are signs of increasing hormones, I was quite sick with my first pregnancy and really sore boobs. I think I will ask my midwife about getting bloods done.

When was your LMP?

Could you have ovulated late?

(My LMP was 29th Jan but didn't ov til 21st Feb so by LMP dates I am 6weeks but by ov dates I am only 4weeks)

If something similar happened to you then this could be reason for smaller than expected dates.

MY LMP was 23rd Jan, but I was using OPK and got lh surge on day 12 (3rd Feb), so probably ov 24/48hrs later, unless it was a false surge if there is any such thing, my cycle before was 35 days so surging on day 12 would have put me on a 28day cycle.

I suppose I could have had ov late, looking at it now, I was due af on 19th Feb but didn't get positive test until 22nd, so maybe it wasn't going to be a 28 day cycle and so possibly didn't ov until later.
