how can I tell if baby is breech?

I'm convinced it is, not entirely logically (lots of breech babies around me), and am not due to see the mw for another fortnight (will be nearly 35w by then).
I can feel a hard lump high up on the right side most of the time. It feels kind of pointy. I don't get a huge number of kicks (anterior placenta), and they're probably more up high than down low.
Any way of telling before I see the mw? I'm booked for a homebirth, and I don't know what I'd do if it did turn out to be breech...

My baby has been breech the whole way through (I have scans every two weeks) - I have a hard lump right at the very top (head) & really terrible indigestion , the heartbeat is always found above my tummy button & all the kicks are really low (on my bladder). It is far more uncomfortable compared than my previous babies which were cephalic.

oh dear that is NOT what I want to hear... This pg has been considerably more uncomfortable for me too, though heartburn/indigestion better than last time.

Any tips for working it out for myself from anyone? How can I tell what I'm feeling?

My midwife told me that the hard part on the right hand side of my upper abdomen could be baby's knees or feet. The baby is currently head down so perhaps yours is too?

When my ds went breech at 38 wks, I could feel smaller grapefruit sized lump high up at my ribs which I could move about with my hand, sort of bounce his head back and forth a little bit. Had evc (turning manually ) and consultant said he might turn back but would be re-turnable even in early labour.
In the end he came out head first in less than 2 hours. Bums and knees dont "bounce" like that head did.

My dd was breech from about 27 weeks and yes there was a hard lump right up under ribs...on left side for me...you get a strange feeling of movement when you touch it...never thought of it as bouncing before but that is just right!..this time I'm 28 weeks with ds and exactly same again...v hard lump in exactly the same place, and regular monthloy scans and midwives palpations are all saying breech breech breech!
dd didn't turn for me despite moxabustion, refelxology, lying upside down and an ecv, so not holding out much hope...but I have met many people for whom one or all of those methods of turning have worked so all hope of a home birth should not be lost!

Bouncing? I'm not quite sure what that means! When I prod at the hard lump it wibbles a bit from side to side, or goes down a bit, and sometimes seems to wriggle itself, if you see what I mean?!

My dd was breech and I could feel her head under my ribs, on the right hand side. Aw bless, all her head was a funny shape because she was rammed up against them.

For me, the kicks were right near my pubic bone, from around 27 weeks, they never moved.
