I don't know much about that pill but if you're worried you should go to your doctor tomorrow and get the morning after pill. The sooner you take it the more effective it is. You can also buy it from pharmacies if youcan't get to the doctor but it's about £26 (according to this website).

this is why i dont want to be on the pill. my mind is all over the place at the moment. Im trying to physc myself up to having a coil fitted but also need to be 100% down below. i really really dont want any more children. dh will be getting the snip.. I feel so sick. Icant work out if i view the map as like an abortion?

I've just wikipediaed the progesteron-only pill. You said your DS2 is very little: are you specifically on that type of pill because you're breastfeeding? If you are then that makes it even less likely that you would get pregnant.

no im not bf-ing

Even so, it is very unlikely that you are pregnant, but the only other thing you can do now is the MAP.

Sorry, not terribly helpful, I know. It's like all the other 'am I pregnant?' threads (usually by people who want to be). We don't know if you are. It's possible. But I'd say it's fairly unlikely.

brettgirl2 · 09/03/2009 07:53

If you are taking mini pill and definitely don't want to get pg I would definitely get the MAP. It isn't the most reliable contraceptive in the world even when you take it properly.

Of course the other option is to get a coil fitted now but if there is a med reason not to then get MAP. Is there a reason that you aren't on the combined pill if you aren't bf?

mad4.
the map (or emergency contraceptive pill) is not like an abortion...If taken early enough it prevents fertilisation of the egg.

in order to be sure that you don't get pg, then imo, you should take it, but as the othert posters have said, it sounds fairly unlikely that you will be.
good luck. x

what chimchar is right, you are not pregnant YET but if you dont take the MAP then you do run the risk of getting pregnant, the MAP will prevent egg fertilisation therefore meaning you wont get pregnant,

mad4mybaby · 09/03/2009 10:22

well iv taken it,. doc saidisnt 100% although better than nottaking it

Good luck!

The page I saw says that it prevents "95% of pregnancies that would have occurred" (not sure how they measure that) but added to the fact that you were probably not going to be pregnant anyway I expect you'll be okay.
