37 weeks and feeling awful

Anyone else in the last stages of pregnancy? I am 37 weeks tomorrow; but unfortunately I am feeling absolutely grim. Have (yet another) very heavy cold/chesty cough, feel like I need the loo all the time and getting painful stabbing pains in my bladder (where I guess baby is pressing), can't sleep because of loo trips (5 times a night?) and awful heartburn. Getting no sympathy from husband at all - in fact I hate him at the moment. Trying to look after my darling 18mo, which is difficult when you are feeling this crap.
aaaaggghhh. anyone else feel like this? can anyone cheer me up?

can sympathise, I"m also 37 weeks tomorrow, have 2.5 year old DS.. Find I'm getting really grumpy and arguing with people in shops etc . everything seems to get my goat!

All I can say is do something nice for yourself, I had a hot bath with a bath bomb last night and felt a bit better. anything that breaks the routine is good, even getting a takeaway or something. it's a crap stage of pregnancy. I'm trying to enjoy it because this baby will be our last. at least if you feel you need the loo all the time it might mean the baby's head is down and partly engaged. so can't offer anything more illuminating except to say it will be over soon!

Madigan are you me? I'm 37 weeks and have a darling 19mo who has just started having tantrums ('tis like walking on eggshells with her at times ). But she has just learnt to say please ("peeeesh" amd it melts my heart every time she does)

I woke up at 3am with a mouthful of stomach acid - and that was after swigging Gaviscon just before bed.

DH makes me cry - not in a bad way - just if he comes home in a grump my hormones tell me to cry!

Anything on tv with babies makes me cry!

I am about to face soft play - can it get any worse than that???!!!

I would say this because I'm a pregnancy yoga teacher! But when I started to get uncomfortable (at about 37 weeks too) the ONLY thing that made me feel better was gentle yoga stretches and practising my breathing. I did them especially in the evenings when I felt really exhausted and rubbish. At least then I felt I was doing something constructive and not just lying on the sofa thinking about how uncomfortable I was! Good luck!

I was just like this at 37 weeks - started mat leave got evil cold and then gave birth to DS2 at 38 weeks. On the plus side cold totally disappeared in labour!

Yep - 38 weeks here and feeling a bit crabby. Just want baby out now and it's the knowing it could be another 4 weeks+ that makes me feel even more pissed off! Should just be enjoying maternity leave and time to myself whilst I still can, but can't seem to be perk myself up. DH is annoying me too. Not his fault, of course, but he's just not giving me enough attention given I am about to drop his baby.

Hi Boobz - know the feeling .... except it IS my DH's fault that he is pissing me off. Do not think it is too much to ask that he occasionally shows some interest in how I am feeling, and gets me a cup of tea now and then? Honestly, he is so self-absorbed it is incredible; sometimes feel I don't really exist. Properly annoyed and fed up with him.

I have elective c-section booked for a couple of weeks (i.e. at 39 weeks) - so no danger of me going overdue, but just have a feeling this one might be early .... feel a lot more uncomfortable than I did with DD. And what is with this painful bladder? Only way I can describe it is that I feel like I have cystitis, but no pain on peeing (so I presume it is not cystitis) - but bladder constantly feels full, and some times painful. Anyone else have this symptom? It is so annoying.

madigan tbh I don't think men can summon up the same enthusiasm for the second one. first preg, DH used to drive me to work!!!

I'm 36 weeks and I can agree with the painful bladder issue. Its worse when I have been on my feet for a while or have walked a reasonable distance. I saw my midwife the other day and she just laughed when I said I was convinced the head was at least partially engaged, so goodness only knows what it feels like when it has engaged.

I'm 38 weeks, and I've had enough now! My hips hurt (my right side more so, for some reason), my back hurts, I feel like I'm being headbutted in the cervix- well, I suppose I am, but it's very uncomfortable! This is my first, and I really didn't expect pregnancy to be so bloody miserable. I think I had about 3/4 weeks of enjoying it at about the 26-30 week mark, but the rest of it has been, well, rubbish, quite frankly.
I'm 3/5 engaged, apparently, so I'm hoping that means baby will make an appearance sooner rather than later. Do they sell babies on ebay? I might just buy the next one...

AnathemaDevice - I'm with you on pregnancy being rubbish ... it really is. I have not "bloomed" at all. I look a fright actually. Absoultely knackered and stuffed with a cold. fed UP. and bored.

Hi, another moaner here

36 weeks tomorrow and miserable as sin.

This is my second and DH has taken absolutely no interest whatsoever. He even resents me asking him to take the dog for a short walk. I'd do it myself but where we live is really hilly and I'm struggling.

Also full of cold and can't shift it .

Bring on the birth......

Pintofstella, I would get him one of those fake pregnancy bumps that weighs the same as a pregnancy bump, strap it to him, and then leave him to all the housework and dog walking for a while. If he looks like he is managing OK get a sharp pointy stick and poke him in the bladder

LOL CookieMonster! How very right you are! Have just returned from walking the dog myself.....

Oh dear - I'm only 34 weeks and feel like crap. I've ages to go... DD age 2.3yrs seems to want to drop her nap but is so knackered by the late afternoon - she turns into a maniac. If I let her sleep - she wakes up at about 6pm - she's ready for bed at 10pm (I'm ready for bed myself at about 8pm..)

My bump is huge. Looks like I'm about to deliver any day. My back is killing me, I've horrible intermitent shooting pain in my right buttock. Also - I had a bowel and bladder prolapse following my first birth which took a year of physio to sort out. Now, though - everything is falling back down. Really uncomfortable. Sob.

The heartburn is awful - I even get it standing up, makes me gag.

My DH is lovely - gets up with DD every morning at 6am and lets me stay in bed until 8am .

I could never be a surrigate mother. I don't think I'm a wimp - I used to be really active prior to each pregnancy. Trained for marathons, always on the go ect. As soon as the blue lines appear, my body goes into freefall.

I love the end result though!
