Hello all!

I'm 39 weeks today and booked for a C Section on Monday. Have had no probs with swelling or BP the whole pregnancy, however, night before last I was watching telly and legs felt 'wierd'! Kind of tingly and tight. When I looked my feet, ankles & legs were MASSIVE! So trolleyed off to bed & slept with my legs elevated all night. Woke yesterday & were the same so decided to ask my GP (had appt for DD so snuck in there lol).

GP immediately referred me to hospital as BP was much higher than my norm (although not at danger level), and he noted protein in my wee (he dipsticked twice!) and wanted to rule out PE.

At hospital (they told me not to rush as they had no beds!) they noted that the swelling was +++ up to mid shins & hands too & bp was up. But when they asked me for a wee there was no protein (??). This was 5 hours after the GP tested.... We were still there at 2:30am and it was BUSY as hell, so they took some bloods & we decided to go home (they didnt seem concerned) as we were shattered & DDs were at home.

What we DID notice is that in the hour or so I was on the CTG, I had 7 really regular contractions BANG ON 9 minutes apart! They were reaching 47% on the toco too.

Thing is, I've had my show (38 wks) and have been having regular BH for a while. I will confess that they are more tender at the mo, and more so when I stand up, but they're not killing me!! But they didn't mention them so I was unconcerned.

I am now a wee bit uneasy, we still have 5 days to go, and baby is 4/5 engaged, still VERY regular BH (according to contractionmaster!!) but I'm not in 'pain' IYKWIM.

They didn't mention my planned C Section at all, and I just wondered if I ought to be concerned? I'm unable to give birth naturally & my midwife gave me a stern warning at my last antenatal not to let it get 'established' if I start early but to get in asap. I guess I just feel like a wally because I don't know whether or not to be concerned! After 2 kids you'd think I'd know whether BH can be THAT regular...!!! In my defence though, DD1 is 11 & DD2 is 7 so its been a while

Any wise MNers out there able to give me a virtual cuppa & a talking to?? I have virtual chocolate gateaux if anyone wants to share....?!!

Thankyou! XXX

I've just noticed this thread and that it hasn't been answered! How are you doing now?

It sounds as if things are moving and I wonder if your little one arrived already! I hope it all goes/went well and will look out for an update.

Thanks for the replies, I haven't been on for a couple of days as I've been frantically cleaning the house (nesting like crazy!)

No sign of baby yet but the cx's seem to be hanging in there at 8-9 minutes (I must say they do make me stop what I'm doing for a minute!) but they're not OWWWWWWWW kinda painful! My sister thinks that having 2 natural births has hardened me to the beginning stages of labour lol . She also thinks I may be in the 'dragging' stage of the body getting things ready! I've had more bits of show (sorry tmi!) and I feel like baby wants to fall out when I walk around! That said there's not really been any 'progression' or reason for me to run off to hopsital in a blind panic!!

I saw my consultant on Thursday and he didn't seem too worried about me so I didn't push the matter....he did however tell me that baby is measuring 42 weeks @ 39 weeks! And is engaged so I feel I'll be having a little mammouth! I only have to keep my legs closed for 1 more day (ROLL ON MONDAY!!) and I'm there! Fingers crossed for me ladies!! And thanks for your posts!

Fingers and toes are crossed, but you'll be fine. Best wishes for tomorrow!

All the very best. FWIW I have 10 minute Braxtons for 10 days before I was induced...
