I have. I wasn't ever asked and it wasn't on the questionnaire

SparklyPseudonym · 04/03/2009 17:13

Me too. You can give blood but it will no longer be given to prem babies.

n5rje · 04/03/2009 17:57

Yes, no problems, I've never even been asked if I've had anti D. Of my 4 DCs two are positive (or so I assume as I've only has post natal anti D twice) and I also had it twice during my 4th pregnancy.

No, in fact if you are O Neg they beg for your blood and send you fan mail, because this is the blood theu need most for accident victims where they haven't had time to cross match. However Sparkly is right, only males can give O Neg to prem babies to avoid any postnatal antibody risk.

I asked the give blood people this very question, and they said you can give blood. i suppose it's up to them whom they give it to though.
