Telling friends/relatives the news?

When are you going to tell everyone the news? i've only told my mum, dad and sister plus Mother in law. With friends i'm not sure when to tell them i might wait till my first scan.

My line manager was the first to know at just 6 weeks, oh how we still "laugh" about how my face was a picture!

We then didn't tell family and a few choice friends until 12 weeks. I then had to tell ex-dh and that was the toughest so that didn't happen until about 22 weeks.

After I knew he was okay about it then we told everyone else.

My husband and i told my parents and brother about our 2nd pregnancy at 12 weeks (1st pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 6 wks,a week after i'd told everybody about it). We gave them a photo album and the 12 wk scan was right at the back!! They were ecstatically happy!!! Our ds is now 16 months old.

this is my sixth pg -and i have three children. with our first m/c we had told everyone -and i mean everyone, the man in the shop, the teacher at night school etc, adn ti was very hard having to say 'no i'm not pg anymore' to all those people. so on our last pg -which ended up as a m/c, we didnt tell anyone. we told our parents when we got the bad news and they were great. it was so much easier not having to explain it, and watch peoples uncomfortable faces, over and over.
this time, I think i need a nice strong heartbeat on my early scan before i tell anyone.
on alighter note, my mumsnet thread all knew before my dh!LOL

with our first we told everyone straight away and then we had a miscariage at 8 weeks. 2nd time only told family until we had 12 week scan, then with our 3rd we told everyone at 6 weeks again.everyone would of guessed with my third anyway because i was already showing by the time we told them.

We decided to wait till we had the 12 week scan before telling anyone. Then I started to bleed at around 10 or 11 weeks, it was horrible and felt so alone. They scanned me early and everything was ok (I continued to bleed for 2 weeks) and I now have less then 3 weeks to go now. Next time I think we will tell close family and friends, so we can have the support should anything happen.
