Pregnant after coming off pill - how are dates worked out?

I came off Cerazette at the end of December. Had cramps around 10th Jan, then gradually developed pg symptoms. Tested +ve on 1st Feb (after testing -ve on 21st Jan).

My GP is dating the pregnancy assuming I had a period when I came off the pill (I didn't btw). And the cramps and dates of tests back this up, making me 9 weeks today. But my symptoms seem further along - I started needing to wee all the time mid-Jan, morning sickness started at just 4 weeks (which is why I did a second test), and I already have a bump. Is it normal to get symptoms earlier with your second pregnancy or could my dates be wrong?

I am only concerned as I did miss a pill in December so its not impossible and my scan is being done at 12 weeks but I don't want to miss the opportunity for the nuchal test if I am further along.

beanstalk I would suggest that you request a dating scan. If you haven't had a period, you can't be sure how far along you are without a scan afaik.(I'm no expert btw)
Ihave heard that you can show bumpiness earlier with later pregnancies. but I'm not sure about morningsickness though.

Or it's a multiple birth? Don't want to panic you, but I got morning sickness and need to wee very early in my twin pregnancy. A dating scan would also show how many embryos - I agree with AnnVan that you should ask if you can have scan earlier - as you say, if you are further along then your 12 week scan may need to be earlier.

Don't don't say that MrsF, that's what I am secretly fearing! Don't get me wrong, twins are lovely, just not for me with a very energetic 2 year old already!

Thanks for the replies, I am seeing the midwife for my first appointment tomorrow so will see if I can get an earlier scan. Good idea!
