Haved moved back to the UK and am pregnant and need some advice on getting into a good general practice (a nice caring doctor) in Kensington area and a good Obstetrician too any help would be much appreciated as I haven't lived here for quite a few years and don't have any contacts.
Thankyou

I had DS1 with Roger Marwood- he is very good. He's rather serious and school-masterly in his manner, but kind and considered too. Also extremely capable and well regarded. I assume you are going to have your baby at the Kensington Wing C&W?

Not sure I am going to go to Portland st or Kensington C & W what did you think of the hospital and what sort of cost is Dr Marwood? Thanks for your help

Kensington Wing was brilliant and has the advantage of having full emergency back up if anything (god forbid) were to go wrong. That was the main reason I didn't consider the Portland.
It has recently been refurbed and expanded so am looking forward to an even nicer stay there this April.
Dr Marwood was about £5k I think, but that was in 2007, and I think most of them have gone up since then. They are all much of a muchness in terms of costs I think. Some seem tocharge more if you have a cs though and others (Mr Marwood incl) just charge a flat fee.
Happy to answer any other questions you have.
BTW you can go in and visit/have a look around any time you like - just give them a bell and they'll arrange it for you.
Don't wait too long to chose a consultant though, or you will find your choice is significantly reduced.

Mr Carl Chow an excellent, calm, natural doctor who promotes normality and listen to the women Highly recommend him!
