Could this be waters leaking?

I'm 32 weeks pg and for the last day or two have been a bit, erm, damp down below. Not enough to soak through my pants but enough to make a pantyliner feel a bit damp. No particular colour or smell and it's not sore or itchy. Seems to come and go, overnight last night there was none, has been a bit more this evening. Baby is moving as usual.

Could this be waters leaking or is it probably just normal discharge? Don't want to rush into the labour ward in the middle of the night particularly, should I just wait and see or call the MW in the morning?

I had the same experience last week - also 32 wks. I called my midwife and was told to go to maternity day unit. I had the baby monitored for movement, was given a scan to check measures of fluid and was then swabbed for tests to make sure that there was no infection. They couldn't actually determine if any waters fluid had leaked, or if it was just a 'leak' caused by the baby leaning on my bladder, but they did put my mind at ease that everything was OK.

It all seemed a bit OTT, as like you, I didn't really think that it was an issue, however the nurses and docs all said that I had done the right thing. They all made it clear that at this point in the pregnancy it's simply not worth taking any chances.

I would go and get checked in the morning if I were you.

Thanks. I did call the labour ward last night but they weren't very interested. Said to put a pantyliner on and call back in a few hours if wet. As there was no more dampness until this evening I had written it off as nothing!

I think I will call the MW in the morning and see what she says.
