reduced amniotic fluid at 34 week scan

just after some advice really. Had a 34 week scan last week as high risk pregnancy due to BMI. When i had the scan they found that the deepest pool of fluid was 2.3cm and the amniotic fluid index was also 2.3cm. Saw the consultant and am now being monitored twice a week, but am struggling to get answers to my questions! I have no signs of infection and in hindsight think I probably have had a slow leak which I think may still be intermittent. I have questions, but am not sure if there are any answers to them as I guess every case is different-mainly i'd love to hear from anyone with experience of this and if so what happened to them?

other questions are...

Does anyone know what a "normal" fluid pool should be?

How likely is that that the fluid will increase?

What is likelihood of going to full term/natural birth?

thanks

I'm really surprised that your AFI could be 2.3, if you have your deepest pool at 2.3. Your AFI is the addition of all four pockets of fluid, so that would mean that you had absolutely no other fluid.

Hi-thanks for your reply-I am struggling to find out much about this fluid business!

the sheet the hospital gave me definitely says that the AFI is 2.3. I have a hospital appt tomorrow so will double check then.

thanks again
