Tiredness in the second trimester

I'm 14 weeks pg and have become really really tired. I've found myself getting tired even walking round the shops and having to go home and go to bed straight away. I've had 12 hour sleeps at night and i had an extra four hour sleep during the day yesterday, but really feel like i need it, as soon as my head hits the pillow i'm off like a light!

Any ideas what could be causing this in the second trimester? I thought i was suppost to get my energy back!

Have you had your iron levels checked? if you are anaemic it would have this effect.

I woke up at ten to one today (apart from the 0630 pee) and only cos my DP rang home. Whilst I blame my 3yo for also going back to sleep, I'm just trying to sleep as much as I can!

I'm 15 weeks, and could sleep now if DD wasn't up and at 'em!

Had my iron checked at 7 weeks, my Hb was on the low side and my midwife gave me diet advice. But that was 7 weeks ago now, do you think they could of dropped further in that space of time?

I'd get iron checked again. I was knackered in second trimester and it was because I had no iron stores.

Watch out tho, the iron supplement they give you makes you super-stinky!
