I'm quite embarressed asking this but is it normal for vaginal discharge to increase during pregnancy?

Yes it is, as long as it doesn't smell horrible it is fine.

Lulumama · 22/02/2009 13:16

yes, absolutely normal, esp in the first and third trimesters IIRc.

any odd coloured or smelly discharge is not normal, could be infection

if it is itchy, might well be thrush

I am still in first trimester. it doesn't smell and isn't itchy at all. Its kind of like the discharge I use to get around the time I was ovulating.

I ended up having to buy some panty liners when I was pregnant. There was a LOT!

I just use panty liners as increased a lot, with panty liners I'm a lot more comfortable, bizarre

Yes totally normal as long as it doesn't smell funny or you don't itch. I'm using pantyliners every day. The joys!

Worth keeping an eye on, I thought the discharge I was having was 'normal' during pregnancy only to be told by the midwife that I have thrush (although I have not been suffering with iching etc as I have previously experienced prior to pregnancy).

I would stock up on panty liners as well as now I find I am wearing them daily at 29 weeks!
