Should I do another test? Thoughts please...

Hello

I got a positive test result on Monday morning, another on Monday afternoon and another on Tuesday morning - all strong and immediate. But, I was actually on holiday at the time so the first test was Clearblue and the others were Italian!

I got home last night and feel kind of anxious because of all the twinges and feelings I'm getting (and now anxious about the ones I'm not getting anymore!) and feel like I should do another test - particularly because I had a temperature drop the day after the first positive. I stopped temping straightaway after that cause I was so nervous!

My husband is adamant that I should stop looking for problems, NOT test and just take a sample to the Doctor on Monday but I feel like I ought to do another - HELP!

Thank you so much for reading this rambling post.

Step away from the tests! Three are enough to comfirm IMO even if they were Italian (no reason for them to be any less accurate from UK ones)

Congratulations!

Well I did one test - I hadn't ever read MN and as a result assumed that positive (clearly so!) is exactly that. I've still got the second one left lol. The doctor will probably just take your word for it - they thought my one positive was fine!

Oh yes and congratulations

Thanks girls - I can't believe I'm being so neurotic already!

To be honest I think I just can't quite believe it, I was diagnosed with endemetriosis years ago and thought it would take ages to get pregnant - I just can't help feeling I'm not this lucky so something MUST go wrong... I've been having twinges in my lower left abdomen so was convinced it was ectopic at first, now my boobs aren't quite as painful as they were so I think I can't be pregnant anymore etc etc. I was considering getting a private scan somewhere but I know it's probably too early (my last period was 17th Jan so I can only be about 4 weeks I think) and my husband would go berserk - he's already said I'm spoiling any excitement he was feeling with all my worrying!

Anyway, I appreciate your advice - I won't be buying another test!

If you are thinking about having a private scan then leave it until you are eight weeks - by this stage it actually looks like a little baby with stumpy little arms and legs. If you have one too early they can't even confirm viability (and even at about 6 weeks when they can the hb wouldn't be clear to you).

Try to relax, the thing is that I don't think anyone expects to get pg really quickly. You get loads and loads of twinges, the symptoms come and go - everyone worries to a greater or lesser extent, certainly up to 12 weeks.

i had an early scan at about 8 weeks it really put my mind at ease as i felt a few twinges but i think it was probably nothing more than settling in pains and my ligaments streching.

2bh i was glad i had the early san though the baby had little stubby limbs by then and it cinfirmed a strong heart beat xx

Thanks again, think I will mention the left hand side twinges to my Doctor and see what she says...and then book a private scan at 8 weeks regardless!
