Anyone out there have a pack of mothercare maternity towels to hand?

I'm trying to sort out my hospital bag from the comfort of my own home. I like the look of the different mothercare maternity towels and the fact that there are some with wings. But, it says on the front of the pack that there is a usage chart on the back of the pack. Typically, you can't view this on line. I really want to know how many of which pads to get and I don't want to just get normal sanitary towels as they snagged my stitches last time. I'd be really grateful if someone could summarise the usage chart on here for me.

TIA!

Just get a million and you'll be sorted

Actually, I'd get at least 6 packs to start wit - 12 in a pack right? YOu'll get through the first pack easily on day 1 and the others won't get wasted over the coming weeks.

There are usually 6-12 in a pack iirc.

I know that I'll need loads, I was just wondering about the different absorbancies that mothercare do. How long do they recommend the 'regular' towels for before they suggest you could change over to the 'slim' towels?

I never changed to the slim ones as when it got lighter swapped to normal towels. I used 5 packs i think before i swapped but i didn't bleed as much as i expected. I actually found the tesco ones better but its personal taste (they didn't have wings and i was worried aout leaking but they were fab!)
Good luck!

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'll probably get four pack of the regular ones and maybe one or two of the slim ones. Sainsburys sold some lovely slim ones when I had DD but they have changed them now. I think that I'll stick with the maternity ones to begin with because of how ultra soft they are. I think that I used maternity ones for weeks after I had DD as I did bleed a lot and I'd been re-stitched in theatre with lots of stitches

I got 2 of the huge 48 pack regular ones and 2 of the slim ones - am using the regular ones to blot stitches as well as for pad use and 10 days on have used most of the regular ones (much more comfy for sitting on stitches too). Aiming to move to the ones with wings next week and then onto normal pads...

Mine says 24 for the first 2 days and 24 for the next fortnight. This does not sounds enough to me.

differentID · 21/02/2009 17:34

I think it's 24 for the first 2 days and 24 more for the rest of the first week.

BoffinMum · 21/02/2009 17:35

Sorry, misread, trying to do 10 things at once.

The pack of Mothercare towels with wings I've got in front of me now say 24 for the first 2 days and 48 for the first week. I've bought 3 packs of 12 or my hospital bag and I've made sure DH is prepared to go out and buy lots more!

Swaliswan · 22/02/2009 22:28

Thanks Ladies! I think that I will definitely stick with the regular ones for at least the first week. I'm just about to write DH a shopping list of bits to buy in mothercare - poor guy.

I bought 6 packs of 12 and two packs didn't get used. Just to say that you might not bleed so much, your DH can always get more if you do. So I wouldn't get more that 6 packs.
