As the title says really. It's happened a few times now. Twice on holiday, at breakfast time when I hadn't eaten since later afternoon the day before, and at about 9pm on another day when I hadn't eaten since breakfast )lost track of time!) And again about an hour ago when I had a ham sandwich which was the first thing since about 8 last night.

The only thing I can think of is that it's too 'heavy' on my empty stomach? It's not as though I dive straight into eating something heavy and greasy, since it happening the first time i'll have something light but filling, and it still comes straight back up the minute I take the last bite!

ummm
then don't go so long without eating

I can feel quite uncomfortable if I eat after a long gap. But i also find that if i miss a meal I then don't want to eat and have to be disciplined about making myself.

I think you just have to be aware if your body freaks out when you starve it - like mine does

BTW - I am not pregnant but that is when my meal missing thing started. You should try really hard to keep a sensible light snack nearby so it does not happen

I don't mean to go so long without eating I don't normally, my excuse today was that I slept in until 1 () after a late night, and just wasn't hungry until I had the sandwich, I can't really face eating until I've been up for a couple of hours.

I just puke or retch if I let my stomach get empty. Have to eat little and often. Not sick when I eat though.

It because your blood sugar drops, i go through the same thing, Yuk!

It's awful I don't feel sick whilst eating, I'm happily munching away and then I can feel it travelling back up. Not nice when you haven't had a drink with it and it comes back up as dry as it went down...

Think I'll have to start being sensible and nibbling on some dried fruits throughout the day.

It's all to do with low blood sugars I think, if you eat with v low sugars it can make you sick (I used to get it when preg with dd1).

You need to eat reguarly, hungry or not. If ou are not eating how is your baby supposed to get what it needs?

SheWillBeLoved · 18/02/2009 21:55

Sandcastles - believe me I eat it's only happened 3 times in 19 weeks, all times when I've just simply not gotten round to eating in the late evening or soon after waking up. I don't make a habit of starving myself purposely, the tag on my jeans in proof of that
