Baby movements slowing down towards the end...

For the last week or so, baby has been less active - NB have been checked by midwife and I'm still getting enough movements, it's just less than it was. The last two days they have slowed down even more. I know bub is ok as I am still getting enough movements a day (according to midwife) and baby moves whenever I give it a prod! Is this a sign of impending labour? I am 39 weeks today.

NB baby has been engaged since 31 weeks (about 2/5s above brim) , but the last couple of days my bump has really been sticking our near the top like its engaged even more........

No way of knowing I'm afraid! There is no evidence for this signalling the onset on labour tho it's something people may say anecdotally. You'll just have to 'await events'!

MW told me with my pregnancy that the baby has less space to move when so far on, so generally will move less.

I'm 39 weeks today too and was phoning the midwife this morning about exactly the same thing! she didn't seem concerned, said as long as I'm still feeling movements its fine so I'm just keeping an eye on it and feeding it chocolate every now and then to make it wiggle!! hopefully it means labour will be starting soon... hope yours arrives soon!
