3 Positive Tests & Temp Drop - Please Help

Hello, I'm on day 33 of my cycle (mine are irregular but average out at about 25/6 days) have done 3 tests, 2 yesterday and one this morning - all strong immediate positives. But have taken my temp this morning and it's dropped below the coverline. Now I'm on holiday and it's probabl a couple of hours earlier than normal and the room is cold - my hands are cold to the touch, but this is a significant drop and I'm really anxious that I'm about to get my period. Have had no spotting or symptoms yet.

Can anyone advise me? I'm not home tip Friday night and am driving my husband mad!

If you got three positives, you're pregnant. Congratulations!

Why are you worried that your temperature is lower? Is that a sign of getting your period then? It could also be a sign of pregnancy, or of being at that part of your cycle (whether you are pregnant or not) or just that you are cold!

The temp dropping could just be a one-off and doesn't indicate anything by itself. You'd need to have several days in a row steadily dropping below the coverline to indicate a chemical/missed pregnancy.

Three BFP's mean that you are pregnant so congratulations to you!!!

It might be an idea now to put away the thermometer, you've got your BFP now so no need to keep temping...especially if it's making you worry.

Princessmel, when the egg implants in the womb the body experiences increased levels of progesterone which in turn raises the body's resting temperature.

If you are following symptothermal or natural family planning where you take your temperature every morning it is possible to tell you are pregnant by seeing the increase in resting temperature before you even get a BFP. (This was my experience, as I had raised temperatures but got two BFN's before a BFP on the third day of testing...but I wasn't worried as I knew I was pregnant)

So, a sustained drop in temperature after an initial increase would show that the level of prosterone was decreasing, which could indicate that implantation was not successful resulting in a missed or chemical pregnancy. Your period would follow a few days later and if you hadn't been temping or testing for pregnancy you probably wouldn't even know that you had been pregnant.

Everything I've read about temping suggests you stop doing it once you get a +ve test - the measurements aren't reliably going to tell you anything, but they can cause oodles of concern. So put the thermometer down and your feet up...

princessmel - temping is a way of evaluating your cycle and recognising when you ovulate, which basically entails measuring your Basal Body temperature (or a resting temperature) every morning before you get up. Its particularly useful for women that have irregular cycles, or who suspect they're not ovulating on day 14 of a 28 day cycle. There's masses of info and examples here if you want to find out more.

I've been charting temps to monitor cycles and ovulation (your temperature rises just before you ovulate and stays high until your period start when it drops back - unless of course you're pregnant) and had been staying up around 36.7 - 37 but first thing this morning it was 36.4 so I'm feeling jittery. I was so keen to get pregnant but now I am I'm anxious about every twinge or feeling! How do you just relax and forget about it?!

My advise would be to stop taking your temp. 3 BFP is a good sign, just relax and see what happens. Personally I stopped temping once I got a BFP

You just relax and forget about it because you can't possibly stay in that state of high alert for nine whole months! It gets better after the first scan and better still after the 20 week one.

Putting the thermometer down is a good start . If you can, try and watch with interest rather than paranoia - being pregnant is kind of a design feature of the female body, and its an amazing thing to experience.
