Miracle pregnancy - starting to panic, please someone reassure me . . .

To cut a long story short I have blocked fallopian tubes that necessitated IVF. I had two rounds, first one ended in m/c, second one I had a miracle natural pg that also ended in m/c and then had my 3rd round where I had my beautiful DS (8 mths now).

After my natural pg I had a lap and dye to check my tubes thoroughly (original blockage had been diagnosed by scan) and was told that the chances of another natural pg were minute.

Well, I've just done a test and I'm pregnant!

I'm thrilled, couldn't be more happy, but also terrified - firstly that the embryo never made it through the tube and it's actually ectopic and secondly that, after 2 m/cs I will lose this one too.

Am I less likely to have another m/c because I had a successful pg?

Please reassure me - I'm already planning the nursery in my head but at the same time am thinking it's all going to go wrong.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. GOOD LUCK! I'm sure all will be ok.

Jacksmama · 04/03/2009 16:48

Fingers, toes and legs all crossed for you sponge!! Yay on being more pg than you thought!! Do update after the scan tomorrow, ok?

How are you?

spongebrainbigpants · 05/03/2009 17:22

Hi guys, thank you all so much for your messages of support.

Unfortunately the scan this morning was a complete waste of time and has only served to increase my anxiety .

They don't think I'm as far forward as they said on Tuesday so it was still too early to conclusively see the HB. They did see the fetal pole and fetal echo so the pg has progressed since last week. They also saw a 'pulse' but couldn't decide if it was a maternal pulse or the HB.

They did say if it was the HB that it was too slow to be a healthy baby and I would miscarry . Great eh?

So, I have to wait an agonising week before going back next Thursday for a repeat scan .

Wish I'd just waited anyway now .

Thank you for your continued support.

I had an email from my completely adorable IVF consultant today and she has offered to scan me on Tuesday morning. It's a long drive but we trust and respect this woman completely and she knows us and knows our story.

I feel so much happier knowing I won't have to go back to that other hospital for the scan.

I will, of course, keep you posted.

Only four more sleeps .
