Migraines - help my head is about to explode

I'm 15 + 1 and have suffered from headaches for the last few weeks but in the last 4 days I've had 2 migraines. Am struggling to get anything done as all I can manage is to lay in bed avoiding sound and light.

Does anyone have any idea why they would suddenly ramp up or what I can take for them? Paracetemol isn't touching them and I am getting very desperate.

I think you need to see/talk to a doctor. My husband says that Ibuprofen works better than paracetamol (there is also a quick acting one that is specially formulated for migraine). I think that ibuprofen is a problem in third trimester but can be taken with care earlier.

Codine is safe to use aswell. I gave up and just went to bed everytime I had one and thankfully my doctor signed me off work for the first few months because they were so bad. I seemed to get loads early on (3 or 4 a week at one point), but thankfully they seem to have got better as the morning sickness went.

I usually get them when I'm tired and not slept well so think that had something to do with it. I never had them before I was pregnant last year but continued to get them even after I was pregnant so must have had something to do with the pregnancy hormones .

Hi, I have had migraines (hideous lights flashing in eyes, light sensitive puking etc)since aged 11 and the ONLY thing that has ever shifted them is a homeopathic medicine 'Weleda's cuprum met. 6'. DOn't use any other homeopathic stuff and actually don't really believe in it as scientificically there is trace amounts of the stuff so couldn't actually work. It does for me so - go figure, maybe check it out with a doctor first and then give it a go. Just found out I'm pregnant so will be runing it past my doc next week!
