Vaginal Pressure

I am 34 and a bit weeks pregnant now with my second child and have the last few days been experiencing a sort of vaginal pressure which seems to be getting more intense. It's not painful as such, just uncomfortable, and feels like the baby is "right there" iykwim and wants to just drop out (I wish....) It seems to be worse when I get up from sitting or lying down and when I go to the loo. I never had this at all with my first (other than extreme pressure on my bladder) and am wondering if it's merely due to the fact that my pelvics are not what they used to be rendering them much less supportive... Anybody else experienced this? Am starting to worry that I'm heading for a prolapse or something!!

I'm feeling your pain!!! Now 39+2 and over the last 2 weeks have had exactly what you describe... some times (usually late evening) i could swear he was 1cm away from popping out and i have to 'clench' to keep him in! obviously this is daft but is what it feels like!!

This is also my 2nd child and was told by the midwife that all your ligaments etc are much 'slacker' after the first child so everything feels much different (looser!)!

Don't worry, it's normal!!

Am so glad you posted this...it is exactly what I was looking for tonight. I too feel like everything is going to fall out from beneath me...and have just turned 34 weeks pg with my second. Can it be the start of a prolapse? Unfortunately my baby is also breech - so I sometimes think a foot is going to pop right out!

Jen, that's exactly what I feel like I have to do every time I get up - "clench" him in, otherwise I fear he'll just plop out! (As mentioned, I wish it was that easy eh...?) Hmmm - seems like it's the norm than second time around. Dont like it at all that it's cos everything's "looser and slacker" - that's the last thing you want to hear about that part of your body!!!! Well Tantik, I've got a midwife appointment this afternoon so we'll see how baby's lying at this point - I sometimes feel as if he alternates between traverse and vertex. Hope your little breech turns in time!

nearly 38 weeks here with 2nd and knoe EXACTLY what you mean. Been feeling like that since about 34weeks too.

Worst when getting in and out of bed in the middle of the night combined with a bruised feeling down below!
