Hi, I saw these things called "belly bands" in Ebay. Just wanted to check before buying that they do what they are supposed to do and don't look bad. Thanks.

Topshop doe them for £5, basically they cover up the space between your top and trousers. I have 2 and used them for both pgs, they're priceless because you can wear a non-maternity top with the band and have to buy less clothes. They look like a long t-shirt/layering if you get plain coloured ones.

Also good if you decide to breastfeed as they cover your tum when you pull your top up. If you're a size 12-18 (they're very stretchy) you can have mine for the price of postage.

I bought 'boob tube' tops from primark instead, had loads of colours. only £2 each.

Used them all through my pregnancy.

I had a bella band which was brilliant. It really did hold up my jeans and also kept my belly warm.

I think that I used it up to around 7 months, and then used it to around 2 months post partum.

Great great. I am glad to have all your replies, thanks. I was about to go to sleep not knowing. That's kind, laumiere. What colours do you have? I'm 12.

One black, one white Choc. And don;t mention it, will be freecycling all of my maternity clothes anyway!

BikeRunSki · 14/02/2009 22:59

Primark boob tubes for me too. £1 in the sale! Wore from about 7 months to popping.

ihavenewsockson · 14/02/2009 23:25

you can get them from babies r us. they are stretchy ones and help to strengthen your tummy muscles post birth. kinda hold it all in.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 15/02/2009 10:30

you can get packs of 3 for £9 at new look

chaya5738 · 15/02/2009 11:13

I bought a topshop one, which means I can walk around with the top button of my jeans un-down. Has meant that I don't have to buy as many pairs of maternity trousers.

laumiere · 16/02/2009 19:24

Sorry Choc, email me on laumiere 19 e at hotmail dot com and I'll send them!

MrsMattie · 16/02/2009 19:26

Oh I loved my belly bands. I still wear them now and I'm not even pregnant! . They're bloody handy!

CuriousSquid · 16/02/2009 19:27

Get the topshop ones instead!!or use old boob tubes

ChocFudgeCake · 16/02/2009 21:37

Ahh, to think that I was going to buy those 2 in Ebay for 10.99 plus postage! Thanks very much, I obviously came to the right place. And I went to Primark the other day and asked if they had a maternity section, they said "no" and I walked out :P
