I had a lovely first pregnancy - no sickness, no pregnancy related illnesses, no huge extra weight gain, hair/nails like i've never had before (or since) etc etc.

Is it fair to assume that a second pregnancy will have the same sort of effect or could I be sick as a dog second time around?

My pregnancies were the same only in that I felt awful in different ways!
With dd I had fairly bad morning sickness, I vomited every day until I was 16 weeks, and a couple of urinary tract infections. But I did 'bloom' and loved the hair/nails thing too!
With ds I wasn't really very sick - only once or twice. But at 10 weeks I had a nasty UTI and at 20 weeks passed my first kidney stone. I suffered from the stones for the rest of pregnancy and for a year afterwards, also got SPD, horrible indigestion and loads of UTIs throughout the pregnancy.
Needless to say this has TOTALLY put me off having any more kids, and the medical advice is against it too - I want to keep my kidneys thanks!
Sounds really depressing doesn't it. Glad you had such a nice pregnancy and hope it goes as smoothly second time round.

With my first I woke up every morning and had to run to the loo to be sick - lasted from wk 7 - about 14. This time I have not actually been sick yet but feel very sick on and off all day long. Much worse this way round. A friend who is also in early stages of second pregnancy was really sick first time and has hardly felt ill at all this time. I have a feeling that i will also be bigger earlier - already struggling with some clothes - but I am starting a bit heavier this time so goes witht he territory. I reckon there is no set plan - some people have very similar experiences, some are totally different and it seems irrelevent to gender. A friend from work had such a different experience second time round she was convinced that she was having a boy rather than another girl - she was wrong!
Hope you stay fit and healthy - let us kjnow how you get on.

First pregnancy - no sickness, a bit tired, no huge weight gain and really enjoyed it. This time round has been harder (32 weeks) as more tired probably because I am not so fit but again no sickness. Only problem I have had is insomnia... ah well might as well get used to broken nights again.

2 easy pregnancies (crawling round a Play Barn at 9 months preg with DS2!) and two boys.

Second time around I was more tired, spent first 20 weeks at work, looking after DD or asleep. Apart from that both pgs the same (had DS this time). My Mum on the other hand was fine with me but sick nearly everyay when she had my little sis. Take care.
