Hysterectomy during C Section?

Is it possible to have a hysterectomy during a C section and does anyone have any experience of this? I am currently pregnant and this will be my second and last baby - I had ovarian cancer 5 years ago and have been advised that as soon as I complete my family I must have both ovaries and womb removed. I like the idea of killing two birds with one stone....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't see why not

I nearly had to have a hysterectomy when dd1 was born and things went a bit up shit creek.
Not a pleasant experience. But for you it sounds entirely feasible. Have you asked an oobs about it? good luck

Juju - that's what I thought, some poor women have to have them because they are bleeding etc. The sooner I get rid of my ovaries the better is how I feel. My GP was rubbish and didn't know!

Ask your gp to refer you and earn his/her money!

Ask your consultatnt at your next appt, or if you're mw led at the moment, ask them to organise you an appt to speak to a consultant
