Hi there- I love the Quinny Buzz but need to know if I am spending my money wisely. I would like to get the carrycot as well- will I really end up using it for a few years or will I end up buying a lighter MacLaren after 7-8 months? Hope not!!

I had the buzz when ds was born. It lasted less than a year as it was pretty much falling apart!
I bought something else when ds was 1 and still use that now he is 3.
Buzz is so tiny in the seat he wouldnt have fit in it past about 18 months anyway. The metal surround on the seat digs in their head as soon as the child gets tall enough that their head reaches the top (about 18 months, 2 yrs max!)
Sorry.
Saying all that, this is the slighly older model, perhaps the newer one is better?

I'm still using my buzz after 14 mths....although dd is titchy at just over 15lb !! Although have several friends who have bigger babies and stil find it fine.

My model (2008) comes with a second seat unit for when baby is over 18mths.

I think the carrycot with the buzz is the best on the market - particularly compared to the bugaboo etc

I had the same experience as 2pt4 I'm afraid - but mine is an older model; apparently the newer models have a bigger second seat you can use for older toddlers. Now have second baby and am using carrycot bit for him only - when he's ready to graduate to pushchair we'll move him to DS1's maclaren...

Hi
I had one and we all ended up hating it including the parents in law - traded in for a Maclaren as soon as we could.
It's quite bulky, carrycot small, my son was already looking uncomfortable in the seat at 1 1/2 - he was too tall for it. Also got stuck going through some supermarket checkouts so embarassing - the wheel base is quite wide. It takes up a lot of room in the car and we had a jeep.

DS is 2.4 and fits in our old Buzz still, although we no longer use it as he walks everywhere. The carrycot had lots of use, right up until 5 months or so. He slept overnight in it frequently.

I rate it, and ours looks immaculate and is about to be used with DS2.

On the negative side, it is quite wide but it didn't particularly bother me. We did buy the Quinny Zapp after a year or so for short shopping trips and holidays, but actually ended up taking the Buzz on holidays because DS found it comfier.

I'm sure you know this already, but newborns shouldn't stay in the carseat for too long. I'm pretty sure I read on here an hour and a half tops, which is why we went for the carry cot in the end. I thought it would be a waste of money but it is probably the best bit of baby kit I bought.
