OK I'm PISSED OFF, but need to know if I'm being unreasonable. How much time will your DH take off after the birth?

Because DH has just informed me that my due date clashes with one of his colleague's holidays, and that both of them can't be absent at the same time.

I'm fuming....I was SOOO knackered and fanjinally injured after the births of DD and DS, and it's going to be even harder this time round as I'll have TWO pre-schoolers to look after as well as the newborn.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!

My dh had two alternate weeks off when my dts were born, but his company refused to pay for the second week as they were not consecutive.

When dc5 was born last year he took one week off (contractor, so unpaid leave). I had that one week to establish bf and then left alone, but for 4 other dcs, as dh works away from home through the week. Forced me to get on top of things and it wasn't as bad as I expected.

I'm glad your dh is getting things sorted out.

I'm glad you've got it all sorted

FWIW my Dh is taking one weeks' P/L and one weeks' holiday for Dc4 (now overdue).

You might not actually have all the medical problems this time around and if you did (if it were me) I'd insist on staying in hospital to recover for a couple of days.

My parents and PIL would no doubt step in to help, but I personally would only ask if I'd had to have a c-section tbh.
You cope because you have to, you have no choice. If you don't cope your Dh will end up taking time off regardless.

Good luck & a happy stressless birth to you x
