hi i'm new here but i have found this site desperatly searching for answers or some sort of reassurance
i'd like to tell you my story so far and see if any of you have had or heard of any similar experiences?
i had a v.faint pregnancy test thurs jan 15th , we were over the moon as we've been trying since march 2008 after a blighed ovum
started bleeding sat jan 17th with crams and some small clots so assumed the worse and was very upset
i tested every day for that week and got a stronger test line and was still bleeding so i rang epu for advice and they took me up for testing.
I had aa scan and they saw nothing at all not even a thickening of wall lining. my hcg was only 17 so they said i had a full and complete miscarriage and discharged me.
2-3 weeks later (fri) i still had strong positive pregnancy test so was back up to epu!
my hcg was 98 ( not doubling but still an increase after a miscarriage ? )
anyway got another scan 2moro ( monday )
to see whats going on coz they said there was definatly no tissue left or inside when they scanned last time so might still be pregnant or ectopic !
omg help please i'm scared and v.worried {sad}

Lady, I am so sorry for what you are going through.
Can only offer you moral support, though, I really think you need to have that further scan to know what it happening.
As the HCG should rise v sharply in early pregnancy, I do have to say, it is probably unlikely that this is a healthy ongoing pregnancy, I am so sorry ! Your HCG having risen may be due to not all tissue having come away.
Against all odds (and miracles do happen), I wish you all the best and lots of strength to get through the next few days.

how many weeks do you think you are? i dont want to scare you but this does sound a lot like my ep.

paranoidcrazylady · 08/02/2009 12:57

not at all. please bear in mind that ectopics are quite rare.

i got my bfp on 21st jan 2007. 3d later i started bleeding, it was v simillar to a period with dark blood and small clots, was told by gp that i was mc-ing. did a hpt a week later which was a bfp. called epu and had a scan. they couldnt see anything but hpt was bfp. they did bloods and another set 48hrs later and hcg levels had nearly doubled. was told it was a viable pg. 2d later started bleeding again. thick black blood. called epu again and got a scan for the 8th feb. went for the scan and sonographer turned screen away and called for head mw.

was taken into a side room and mw showed us a pic of the pg apparently on my left tube, would need an op to remove it that day. was sent home to pack and went straight to hospital, i remember it was snowing v heavily. i was prepped for theatre and taken down for a laproscopy. unfortunately the pg wasnt on the tube, it had burst it so i needed it removed. the op itself wasnt too bad (i had complications which were unrelated to the ep and needed another op)but the emotional fallout was pretty big. out of all of my losses, this is the biggy and it still hurts now. also means that i have to test after every mc/period just in case. hth.

OracleInaCoracle · 08/02/2009 13:27

please do, remember that there is a chance that you are still pg, it might not be an ep at all.x

TwistinMyMelonMan · 08/02/2009 13:40

i am sorry about the situation,

i had a similar experience but it turned out to be a pregnancy of unknown location as they couldnt find it anywhere (no sign in tubes) but like you pos test, then bleed at 5 weeks, told m/c, hcg had droped,

went away and was still getting post tests, had bloods done 2 days later and hcg was on the up again,

they couldnt do a d and c as they couldnt see it,

they think it was an early preg, that only half m/c and that, very unusually the cells that had not fully come away had started to multipy again, there was no way it was ever going to be a healthly preg

i was treated with methotraxate, it was not as bad as it sounds (beware when googling it) i had 2 injections in both my thighs, the side effects where minimal (thank god) and a few weeks later, after many more blood tests i finally got a neg,

now it is not great, but i kept in my mind that this was a better option than loosing a tube,

i wish you all the luck in the world tomorrow, any more questions please just ask me ((hug))

hi just got back from scan at hospital and they could'nt see anything at all not even a thickening of womb lining
had moreblood took and had to wait an hour tosee a consultant who told me that she's not seen this before , if my levels dont go a lot higher (pregnant) or start to drop (miscarriage) then they will take the decision to give me an injection to end the pregnancy .
I'm currently waiting for a phone call to say what hcg was today so i still dont know !
